Melbourne

Pagemasters offers a range of services from its head office in Melbourne with a staff of about 75.

The TV listings department provides virtually every TV listings guide in Australia and New Zealand. A sophisticated database drives the editing and production process, with staff using InDesign to typeset and produce pages. The puzzles department compiles and creates a range of crosswords, puzzles, comics and quizzes for newspapers around Australasia.

Pagemasters Melbourne also does magazine, website and app design and can provide content for these platforms.

Three high-performing newspaper subediting teams provide production journalism services to News Corp’s regional and community publications and to Fairfax metropolitan dailies.

SYDNEY

Located at the Australian Associated Press head office in Rhodes, Pagemasters Sydney provides a range of production journalism services to the industry.

Subediting teams work on News Corp’s New South Wales community publications and Fairfax’s The Sydney Morning Herald, Sun-Herald and Canberra Times.

Comment moderation services are provided to Fairfax Digital which has tasked Pagemasters with operating a full-time moderation operation for its busy web and mobile news sites.

Other digital editing done from the Sydney office includes secondments to do online work for AAP and subediting for the Fairfax news sites.

BRISBANE

Our Brisbane office is home to a subediting team providing production journalism to News Corp’s stable of regional daily newspapers and community publications in Queensland and north of the state.

A separate team of media specialists provides digital archiving services for Fairfax, categorising thousands of stories and pictures every week so they can be searched for by Fairfax staff and the company’s clients.

Pagemasters’ Brisbane spearheaded large-scale outsourced production journalism in Australia, designing and subediting the magazine sections of Fairfax’s metropolitan newspapers.

AUCKLAND

In 2015, Pagemasters opened a new media production facility in central Auckland, providing subediting, design and comment moderation services to clients around Australasia. The Auckland facility works collaboratively with Pagemasters’ network of production hubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Ho Chi Minh City and London to offer truly global media solutions.

Pagemasters’ long and proud record of servicing the New Zealand media market reached a new level in 2007 when it launched the first subediting hub in the world to succeed at mass outsourced production journalism to live deadlines. Pagemasters’ ability to simultaneously design and subedit multiple pages for the country’s largest newspaper, The New Zealand Herald, and six regional dailies set a new benchmark in production journalism.

NORTH AMERICA

In August 2009, Pagemasters announced a deal that has led to the services it has pioneered in Australasia being offered to newspapers in North America.

Under an alliance with The Canadian Press, Pagemasters North America provides newspapers in Canada and the US with a complete range of editorial services. Pagemasters, under an agreement with The Canadian Press, provides consulting and advisory services and earns revenue based on the success of Pagemasters North America.
