Riverina Media Group – A Shared Product
Project background
Riverina Media Group, a growing publisher of regional newspapers in New South Wales, Australia, faced a challenge in providing comprehensive TV listings across 11 of their titles. Each publication had a different release date, necessitating separate TV guides, which was proving to be a costly and inefficient process. They needed a solution that was both cost-effective and flexible enough to accommodate their diverse publishing schedule.
Our service
To address Riverina Media Group's needs, we proposed a modular "jigsaw puzzle" approach to TV guide production. This involved creating a series of individual day panels, each set to a specific size. These panels could then be assembled in various configurations to create a custom two-page TV guide tailored to each publication's release date.
By providing 10 standardised day panels, we were able to cover the entire week and accommodate the varying publication dates of all 11 Riverina Media Group titles. This eliminated the need for separate TV guide production for each publication.
The result
- ✓ Cost savings — by eliminating redundant design and production work, the modular approach resulted in substantial cost savings
- ✓ Increased efficiency — the standardised panels streamlined production and assembly processes
- ✓ Flexibility — the system accommodates publication date changes and new titles
- ✓ Improved reader experience — each publication offers comprehensive, current TV guides
