With close to 50 titles under the Star News Group banner, ranging from rural Victoria, into SA and up the north-eastern coast of Queensland, Managing Director Paul Thomas wanted a new product that would excite and entertain his readership. Enter Pagemasters.
Already experienced with Pagemasters’ collaborative approach, following the successful launch of Star News Group’s shared puzzles page, utilising Pagemasters’ in-house and affordable puzzles content, Mr Thomas laid out his plans to expand on the four-page TV guide and develop it into an entertainment pullout magazine.
Pagemasters’ skilled Service Development team compiled an eight-page concept title TV Today, encompassing a feature story written by experienced entertainment reporter Danielle McGrane, plus a variety of highlight reviews for freeview TV, a movie guide, and a showcase of the latest trends in the ever-growing world of OnDemand streaming services.
Initially pitched for CQ Today, located in Queensland, the first edition caught the eye of South Australia’s Border Watch, who were keen to pick up the service as soon as possible.
Other titles followed suit and within two weeks of the initial launch, the magazine spanned the entire Star News Group footprint.
Through Pagemasters’ careful content selection process, we were able to tailor one editorial service with the flexibility to be shared across the majority of Star News Group mastheads, at a generous rate.
By working closely with Mr Thomas, we were able to custom mould an eye-popping, revenue-generating service, which met the needs of Star News Group’s design, content and budget requirements. A practice that has resulted in 30 years of successful business management for both Pagemasters and our valued customers.
“The content, accompanied by the quality page production of our recently introduced eight-page TV magazine liftout, has been well received by readers and assisted us with cover sales. Pagemasters provides professionalism and great service.”
